AVANTI HC & AVANTI HC PRO - The evolution of an ongoing success!

Mares is the company that revolutionized fin technology with the introduction of the Plana, the first fin built by integrating an elastic technopolymer blade and a highly durable, yet soft and comfortable, thermoplastic rubber foot pocket.

This revolution continued with the Plana Avanti, the first fin with the "channel effect", followed by the Avanti Quattro, which is still the benchmark product for every fin on the market.

This channel technology has since been refined with the Superchannel fins, and today sees a further evolution with the introduction of the Avanti HC and Avanti HC Pro. These fins use the same materials as the Superchannel, which offers excellent comfort and superior performance, combined with exceptional resistance to aging.

The channel effect of the Avanti HC and Avanti HC Pro is elevated thanks to a new blade shape, featuring two soft side channels that are slightly longer. During the kick cycle, the blade bends in a "spoon-like" shape which creates greater thrust with less effort.

This excellent thrust-to-effort ratio is maximized by the unique design of the blade. Featuring central ribbing on the back, the OPB [Optimized Pivoting Blade) is fully utilized, contributing to the optimal deformation of the blade during a kick.

In the Avanti HC Pro model, the central ribbing and the upper part of the blade are overmolded with a special rubber, which fills in the spaces between the "teeth" in the ribbing. In addition to giving it a unique look, it also helps gather energy during the downwards swoop, which is then returned in the upwards swoop, resulting in an even better performing fin.

The foot pocket of the Avanti HC and Avanti HC Pro models is the same as the much loved foot pocket from the Superchannel and Wave fins, with the exception of a very significant innovation: the side ribs have rubber inserts, making them softer, offering undeniably superior comfort.

OPB - Optimized Pivoting Blade

Allows the blade to maintain an optimal angle throughout the kicking cycle, whereas traditional fins achieve this only during a small portion of the cycle. OPB produces a constant thrust, which minimizes fatigue and produces fluid movement through the water.
